British Seasonal Flowers
Why buy local British flowers?
At Hadsham Farm we are protecting soil life and soil structures by following no-dig principles. This means disturbing our soil as little as possible and adding lots of compost and manure. By caring for our land, we are creating food for bees and butterflies and generating rich habitats for soil microbes, invertebrates and everything that depends on them. We don't use any artificial heat or light, supplying only flowers and foliage which grow seasonally. Picked fresh from the flower field, there is no need to extend vase life of our flowers with any chemicals.

British flowers travel a fraction of the miles of imported flowers (from Europe, south America, Africa and Asia); Flowers From The Farm shows that an average imported bunch will have 19 times the carbon footprint of a locally grown bunch.

By supporting your local flower grower, you’re also supporting your local ecology and economy. Locally grown flowers can be picked at the perfect stage straight into water and don’t have to travel through the commercial supply chain, supplied fresh without the need to wrap them in plastic.
